Blue Orca Marine Welcomes Trev Ruberry as Vice President of Indigenous & Stakeholder Relations

Blue Orca Marine begins the process of hiring Executive leadership team.

Vancouver, BC (February 2nd, 2024) – Blue Orca Marine, a leading innovator in marine technologies, proudly announces the appointment of Trev Ruberry as the Vice President of Indigenous & Stakeholder Relations. In his role, Mr. Ruberry will play a pivotal part in establishing and nurturing crucial connections between the company, First Nation communities, industry stakeholders, and government entities.

Mr. Ruberry is entrusted with the responsibility of introducing Blue Orca Marine’s groundbreaking zero-emission hydrogen-powered ORCA vessel. His key tasks include developing and executing a comprehensive strategy to engage and empower First Nations economically. This role demands a deep understanding of Indigenous cultures, effective communication skills, and the ability to navigate complex relationships.

As the liaison between Blue Orca Marine and various stakeholders, including First Nations, industry partners, and government agencies at all levels, Mr. Ruberry ensures a collaborative approach to sustainable economic development, environmental stewardship, and the successful integration of innovative marine technologies within Indigenous communities.

Mr. Ruberry brings over 15 years of experience in community relations and Indigenous relations to Blue Orca Marine. He has successfully facilitated lasting relationships between communities, governments, industries, and First Nations communities. His notable achievements include:

-Community relations management of Spreads 3/4a of the Trans Mountain pipeline

-Indigenous relations management of the Springbank Dam project west of Calgary

-Principal/Co-owner of an economic/community development consulting firm

-Community/Indigenous relations for MEG Energy (Christina Lake – NE Alberta)

-Past Board Member of Alberta Economic Development Authority

-Alberta Government Rural Development Strategy

Mr. Ruberry holds a bachelor’s degree in Regional and Urban Development with a minor in Economics from the University of Saskatchewan. He furthered his education with an executive MBA from Athabasca University.
